Phonics
We continue to consolidate the phonics knowledge the children have learnt in their Key Stage 1 journey when they enter year 3.
For those children who require additional support we have a multi-faceted approach to ensure rapid improvement in reading accuracy and fluency. Children may receive, depending on inidividual needs:
- targetted small group phonic intervention
- precision teaching (1:1)
- use of snip literacy
Children will then have a decodable reading book matched to their phonic level to support them during individual reading sessions.
